The DRP Mobile |
|
Do enough any of you visit The DRP on a mobile device? If you do, how often? Please go to the link at the bottom of the post, and vote in that poll.
If there are enough votes saying they go to The DRP from a mobile device (probably a number greater than 10), I'll develop a version of the site for mobile devices.

Rules for the New Theme Contest |

I didn't make the rules very clear (or really establish them at all...). So I figured I'd make a post with them all in one place.
Deadline: July 31st, 2010.
Rules/Guidlines:
When creating your theme, unless tastefully used, images in the background are frowned upon. In other words, don't just throw them in there to have them there.
As far as the "gender" of your theme goes, if you're going to make a male or a female theme, please make a version of the theme for the opposite gender as well.
More to be added...
Also, as far as the design factor goes, if you design it, I can code it in, and really make it part of the website.

New Theme Contest! |

Hey guys! It's me again. I'm looking for something completely different this post around. I'm not gonna lie, the site needs a new look. And the front page needs to be completely redesigned. I designed it originally, so I know it sucks. Not only that, but the front page is so unoriginal.
Here's where you come in:
I need someone to design a theme for The DRP's forum and front page, and completely redesign the front page of the website. If you design it, I can code it. So feel free to throw in new sections to the front page, remove them. Do as you feel.
My only requirements are these:
- The theme should probably be lighter, in color.
- The front page must have the following items:
- Log-in box that changes to some kind of status box. (you need to design both)
- Most recent posts/threads
- The blog area. (this will have to be designed in two ways. It needs to be designed for when regular members and guests view it. And it needs to be designed for when admins and moderators view it. The main difference will be that the admins and moderators will have an area to add, edit, and delete posts.)
- Links to the forum, a contact us, and an about us page.
- The new site needs to have a professional, but at the same time, lax atmosphere to it.
Please note that this list may be updated as I get a few more ideas.
As the designer, you will be responsible for the graphics work, as I don't have any skills whatsoever.
Now for the fun part! This IS a paid project. I can't guarantee what I can pay you right now, but it will be above 30 dollars. Because this is a competitive project, I can, of course, only accept one (maybe two) design(s). As far as payment goes, you unfortunately have one of two options:
I can send you money over paypal (and I would prefer this option), or I can send you a check.
Also, it would help me out tremendously if you knew how to work with the themes in MyBB and could have one made and ready to install. This isn't a requirement though.
Once make your submission, we will have a forum poll to see what's liked and what isn't. This won't necessarily make the decision on whose design we accept, but it will definitely weigh in heavily on the final decision.

A New Forum! |
|
Before I even begin to continue, I want to make it clear that I'm not going to start another forum for DRP. DRP is here to stay!
Anyways, I want to create a new sub-forum to test out the MyBB 1.6beta! Because of that, I want to hear your ideas/suggestions as to what this new secondary forums should be about.
I am not opposed to a Roleplay forum, and in that same respect I am not against it. Just sayin'.
Edit:
I want to clarify... by a new forum, I literally mean, a new forum. It will have it's own URL and everything. It will also not be linked to through DRP (except maybe an affiliate). There will not, however, be a link DRP.

Homepage Layout |

I am currently changing the homepage's coding so that it will change with your theme. :D That's why it seems to be a little messed up right now. Please don't post any bug reports on it just yet.
Edit: Aaaaaand, just like that, it's finished. The homepage will now change depending on the theme your using. As with anything else, please report any bugs you may find in the Errors and Bugs section. |

New Themes! |

I told you that I would get some new themes up by the end of the week, and they're up!
The two new themes are Majestic and Black Evo.
Please note that changing your theme in the forum will not change the theme on the front page.

Let the Updates Roll! |

Hey all! Sorry the upkeep on the site has been poor. That's my fault. I've been in college, and that has consumed most of my time. XP But I'm back for winter break, so please, if you feel that the site needs something fixed/updated/added, let me know now. Otherwise, it's likely not to get worked on for a while!
Please post your suggestions here in the feedback board. You can also expect a new theme to pop up within the week.
On a side note, it has also been decided that the we will keep doing miniclipses (more info about them here).

The New DRP Index |

From now on, this is the page you will be met with when you type in http://www.thedrp.org/. You may notice that it's using the DarkOrange theme. This is not changeable at the moment, sorry. You may also notice the layout and theme for the new index isn't very eye pleasing. That's because I made it and I'm no good with layout. If you think you can make a better layout, PM me on the forums, or email staff@theDRP.org. To access the forums again, just click the link to the forums above, or type in http://www.thedrp.org/forum
Relative to past activity, the forums seem to be fairly active! With plenty of new members, something is bound to happen soon.
Also, October 31st marks the date of the first Digiclipse in DRP's history. Even if you're not a member of this site, feel free to participate! And while you're here, why not join? :3
This is a fairly big change, so there may be some bugs. Please post any bugs in the Errors and Bugs section of the forum, or, if all else fails, email the drp staff at staff@thedrp.org
