well, this is some weird news.

ya know how bipolar disorder changes with age? in case you didnt, when your young your moods are changing by the second, completely out of control, but when your older you can spend months being either comepletely hyperactive4 or comepletely emo/depressed.

well surprise! i am adult bipolar now. on other words, ive been in a depressive phase for monthes and my parents didnt notice. the reason they didnt notice is because it gradually built up, so only when i said i hated summer so much that i wanted to hibernate through it did my mom think i might be depressed. so we went over all the symptoms on a medical checklist and i had them all.

apparently when i got my period for the first time mid last year, that threw my hormones and meds out of whack and started it all.

but there is a solution. its completetly random and bizarre, but its....... birth control pills. apparently since this all had to do with hormones birth control pills will help.

im telling yall because i thought it might explain why ive been so negative lately or any strange behavior (no more than usual)

bi polar is definitely an interesting disorder but hey its great you guys have a found a readily available way to balance out the chemical levels in your body. to be honest i cant say i noticed a major difference in your attitude, probably because as you say it crept up gradually

Actually the primary function of the birth control pill is to reduce/increase certain hormone productions, birth control is a secondary function (A wanted side-effect).

I was prescribed it for acne when I was younger and later on for depression.

Other side effects are lighter periods, less drastic mood swings and general overall happiness, however, apparently they make you less horny and some people say they elevate depression indirectly.
