So between today and yesterday I've gotten 100+ emails telling me that the site is closing and get all the contact info I need from everyone that I want to keep in touch with. I get it, the site is closing, don't need to remind me every 15 minutes of the day. Hahah can we fix this?

Save The DRP!

This is a new idea to not create a new website, but to merge The DRP with the other dying community DAR and create a new hybrid website for both of the communities to thrive together.

We all made good friends here, it feels like a family sometimes, so let's keep it together.

DFT is good, full of trolls and kids and is poorly arranged, however I think we need to take over one of the communities that is closing and open it up more and renew it, I'm willing to do this, so I urge people, don't go make zeta board free forums, wait for the next domain to appear and the new direction for the interest in a digital world and digital beings to take form.

I don't say this to attack the people who want to make their own communities, I just advise against it.

I'll post back after seeing what I can do.

In about 2005, I joined a forum called Digimon Spirit. We talked a lot about digimon, of course, but more than that, we really felt like a community. Two or three months later, I would come up with the concept for "The Digivice Project". It was a "simple" project which didn't actually involve Digimon, but more or less, a device capable of long range communication and locating others with this device. There were a good number of the forum members who liked my idea, and some who even wanted to work with me.

That was only the beginning though. From there, I would actually create a website for the project. I believe the url was digiviceproject.110mb.com (Don't try to go to that url. It's long since been gone.). From there, it evolved to something bigger. I WANTED Digimon to be real.

After that, I started looking for communities like this one. I don't recall anything more than the fact that the site I wound up finding was a Google(?) Groups forum. It detailed a much larger project dedicated to making a Digivice than the one I had. In an attempt to keep the forum together and promote teamwork, I would direct everyone in the forum to that one. This forum, however, had an "admin activation" in place. None of us EVER got accepted. I believe the forum had died.

At that point, I started looking around for more "Digimon are Real" forums. I wound up coming across the second iteration of Digiclipse. I loved that forum. I spent quite a while there. I remember Aurelie. I really liked her. But unfortunately, she turned out to be nothing more then a troll. Once Digiclipse was back up, I went back to my regular posting very quickly. I was told by multiple members of the staff that I was being looked at for a staff position. Eventually, I wound up as a moderator there. That was to be short lived, however.

About three months after I became a moderator, the site's admin deleted the site. It was a travesty. People like me, who had a very unique view, woudn't have very many places to go. So I created my own website. This was Digiclipes V3. However, certain events made me change the name to The Digital Research Project.

That brings me to where I am today.

my favourite memory is meeting destiny. yeah i knwo she treated me like crap later one and spread rumors about me, but i swore ide remember her when she was happy. i also liked that time i was up till 3am waiting for posts, and Project Zero (Mig) was online too, and we both thought we were A LOT younger than we actually were and scolded eachotehr for being up so late XD probably my closest friend ive kept from here is Jinn... i dont know if he remembers this, but i repeattedly called him "kid" (like i do to new users) when he came on, only to find out he was older than me.

If any of you want to start your own community, I would like to ask that you not use The Digital Research Project or Digiclipse as your name. I'm not going to stop you, but out of respect for TK/Saphy and myself, please don't use either of the names. I would also be more than happy to add a link to your site on this announcement.
